Well Hello Dolli | Boutique Plaka Accommodation in Athens

Walking through the heart of Athens’ Plaka, where the air buzzes with conversations blended with frappes and the scent of roasting yiros meats drifts down small ancient lanes, you’d never guess that just a few steps away, there’s a retreat from the chaos called, THE DOLLI.

THE DOLLI Hotel isn’t just my favourite boutique stay in Athens – it’s the place I keep coming back to in my mind. Tucked in the heart of the Plaka, just a few steps from arguably the city’s best yiros at O Thanasis, THE DOLLI feels like a secret shared among friends. And I’m sharing that secret with you.

As much as it’s about somewhere to rest your head at night, THE DOLLI is also about somewhere to relax and refuel with a heavy emphasis on their rooftop infinity pool and restaurant.

The staff greet you like family, always saying “welcome home,” and little touches – like sweet treats in the lobby and a quirky stuffed sheep among the modern art – make this spot feel genuinely personal. For me, DOLLI is Athens at its most joyful.

If you can resist the allure of “O Thanassis” and want a more elevated dining experience, then take the elevator to the rooftop restaurant, which serves food that rivals the views: an infinity pool looking straight at the Acropolis, with flavours just as memorable. Personally, I love their breakfast offerings.

THE DOLLI is a boutique hotel with only 46 rooms, so it does sell out quite quickly. If the budget allows, book a room with an Acropolis View – you’ll thank me later…although your wallet may not!

HOT TIP: Try the Dolli (yes, the drink). The hotel’s signature cocktail, the Dolli, is a total standout. It blends Sikinos Mastiha, yuzu-mirin, passion fruit, fresh lime juice, and a dreamy layer of espuma, topped with panache white chocolate and yuzu. Sipping this on the rooftop with a view of the Acropolis is just another reason why you shouldn’t miss Athens in a rush to get to the islands.

If you’re searching for a boutique hotel in Athens that feels genuinely welcoming, celebrates the city’s character, and never skimps on those special touches, I can’t recommend THE DOLLI enough. I’m already dreaming of my next visit.

Thinking about a trip to Athens, or want more insights on where to stay and what to do? Feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to share my tips and help you make your trip unforgettable.
